27. French Mastiff

The English Mastiff, often just called Mastiff, is a giant breed needing ample activity. Sturdy with pronounced guarding instinct, its mass, huge paws, and an estimated 552 psi bite can pose risk. With attentive care it is often mellow and protective. Homes without very small kids suit it better given size.
