4. Acts as a Deodorant

Because it absorbs odors, baking soda is added to some deodorant formulas and placed open in fridges or bathrooms. Sweat itself is odorless until skin bacteria break it down. Baking soda can buffer the resulting acids, softening the smell. In a pinch, a light pat under the arms offers a simple natural option. Discontinue if irritation occurs.
