6. Soothes Itchy Skin and Sunburn

A paste of baking soda and water can ease mild itching from insect bites or minor irritation. For widespread sun discomfort, a warm (not hot) bath with one or two teaspoons dissolved can offer relief. A soak of about 30 minutes helps the solution contact affected areas. Some people add cornstarch or oatmeal for added soothing. Avoid use on broken skin and stop if irritation worsens.
