Given to: Queen Elizabeth II From: German government officials Estimated Value: Not given President Gauck governed Germany from 2012 to 2017, which is noteworthy since it was during that time that the President presented Queen Elizabeth with a large portrait of herself. We do know that the Queen did bring the photograph home, and it's probably in the royal family archives now. We just don't know who thought it would be a good idea to send the Queen a portrait of a president she had no relation to at all.
