St. George's Church in the small Czech village of Luková is renowned for its ghostly reputation. This fourteenth-century church stood for centuries until its roof collapsed in 1968 during a funeral service. Following this incident, the belief that the church was haunted or cursed led parishioners to abandon the building, opting to hold mass outside.

Ghostly Revival

Interestingly, it was the ghosts themselves that contributed to the revival of St. George's Church. An artist installed thirty-two ghostly figures draped in white sheets within the church, placing them in the aisles and on pews. These ghost statues serve as a physical representation of the haunting, transforming the church into a unique attraction that blends art and folklore.
