2.Split or Cracked Nails

Constant contact with chemicals and the environment can make nails brittle and split. Fungal infections and hypothyroidism, which lowers hormone production, can also cause splitting. If you have other symptoms like weight gain or tiredness, hypothyroidism could be involved. Split nails may also mean low biotin, protein, or iron. Frequent hand washing, cleaning agents, and cold, dry weather can weaken nails. Wearing gloves, moisturizing, and eating a balanced diet can help. Nail strengtheners and keeping nails at a medium length also reduce splitting and cracking.
